Loxton 'Lights Up' Day - 28th November Shops open 9am - 8.30pm
This is the day Loxton officially turns on its magic.

Town Lights & Santa's Walk
November 28th to December 31st
'Santa's Walk' originated in Hilbig Street in the late 1970's. Local residents and businesses embrace this magical time in Loxton and decorate their gardens, homes and premises to reflect this special time of the year. More than 350 scenes are on display around the town. Be sure to wander along slowly so you don't miss anything! Free of charge.

Christmas Tree Festival
28th November to 20th December
'A Celestial Christmas'

Community organisations, groups and individuals spend hours designing and decorating their unique and innovative Christmas trees tying it in with the year's theme. The display held in the Loxton Peace Hall, Bookpurnong Tce, Loxton. Free of charge, but gold coin donations are welcome.

Loxton's vibrant shopping precinct of predominantly locally owned and operated businesses offers a unique and varied range of Christmas gift ideas. Extended trading hours are provided over the Christmas period with shops open Sunday 29th November and every Sunday during December from 10am - 2pm.

The Pines Historical House and Garden
Open Sundays from 2pm
.Wander through this charming and stately home, or discover the hidden delights of the gardens which are being lovingly restored to their former beauty.
The contents of the house have remained untouched and represent a snapshot of the grand lifestyle lived by Ella Amailia Kingdon and her parents. You can visit the website for more information. Loxton Historical Village
Open 7 days - Step back in time as you discover how life was back in the early days of Loxton's settlement with over 45 fully furnished buildings and exhibits. Admission charges apply. Adults $10 concession $8, children $5, family $25. Visit the website for more information.

 

Christmas Wonderland
28th November to 31st December - This is the 25th year that this private display has been staged at Loxton East. 30 stunning displays stretch over 250 metres. See the 'Christmas Wonderland' page for more details.

'Little Town'
Throughout December

The Little Town Christmas Production returns in 2009 to once again delight audiences with its unique and inspirational portrayal of the Christmas Story and celebrates 10 years since its humble beginnings in 1999. Set in the majestic St Peter's Lutheran Church, Little Town depicts the real meaning of Christmas through the lives of the ordinary, everyday people who lived in the past, and the relevance for ordinary everyday people who live in the present. Experience the majestic, the wonder, the laughter and the celebration of this amazing event.

Carols by Candlelight
20th December - Hosted by the Combined Christian Churches of Loxton, held at the Rotunda, East Tce, Loxton from 8pm. If inclement weather, Carols will move to the Community Theatre. Guest Artists. Bring a chair. Ph 08 8584 5338.

St Peter's Lutheran Church Tour

Five to ten minute guided tours of the magnificent gothic style cathedral of St Peter’s Lutheran Church are available by prior arrangement.

Santa's Cave
November 28th, 29th and throughout December .
Santa's Cave in East Tce is truly magical and sure to impress both the young and young at heart. Professional photo opportunities with Santa are available on the 28th November from 11am to 1pm and 5pm to 8pm. You are more than welcome to take your own photos at other times. He has a gift for each of the children who visits his cave. A gold coin donation would be appreciated. Opening times will be advertised on the Cave door and in the local press or Ph 08 8584 8071.

Martha's on Martha
Everybody welcome for free refreshments and snacks each Friday and Saturday nights from Lights Up night in the Uniting Church Hall from 7.30pm until late. Corner Bookpurnong Tce and Martha Street, Loxton. Great Christmas gifts available. Ph 08 8584 5338.

Christmas Craft Fair
Sunday 29th November - This fair offers a wide variety of handcrafted items and cookery for sale. Held in the Loxton Peace Hall, St Peter’s Lutheran Church, Bookpurnong Tce from 10am - 4pm. Free of charge.
